Home Made Pork Chops Smothered In A Delicious Red Wine Gravy

Looking for an easy 30 minutes pork chops recipe? Well. this is the recipe for you. Served this tender pork with my bonus Gourmia Air Fried Panko Crusted potato wedges- crunchy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside.

  • Cast Iron Skillet

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Pork Chops 2 pieces
  • ¼ cup Canola Oil
  • 4 tbsp Badia All-purpose Seasoning
  • 2 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 3 tsp. Salt

The Gravy

  • 1 cup Onion, roughly diced
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp All-purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Red Wine

The Panko Crusted Potato Wedges

  • 4 medium Irish Potatoes
  • cup Plain Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 1 tbsp Badia All-Purpose Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, let's season the pork chops. In a small bowl mix the Badia all-purpose seasoning, salt, black pepper. Mix well together.
  • Season each side of the 2 pieces of pork chops with the seasoning mix. Place in refrigerator to marinate for at least 2 hours.

  • Remove pork chops from the refrigerator and leave them at room temperature.
  • In the cast-iron skillet, heat the canola oil for 2 minutes over high heat.
  • Using the cutting board and knife roughly dice 1 medium onion. Mince four cloves of garlic using the knife or a garlic press if you have one; set aside.

  • Gently lay pork chops onto hot oil to avoid a splash burn with the hot oil. Sear on each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Use the tong to remove pork chops from the cast iron pan and set them aside.

Let's Make A Delicious Gravy

  • In the same skillet pan, add diced onions and minced garlic. Mix and cook until translucent. Add the all-purpose flour and continue to cook for 1-2 minutes over medium heat.
  • Pour the red wine into the flour mixture. Stir with the spoon until the gravy starts to thicken.
  • Add the pork chops to the gravy and allow to cook for another 10 minutes over medium heat. occasionally stir gravy with pork chops to prevent burning. At 5 minutes into cooking, reduce the flame to low.
  • The gravy should be rich and thick with a redish-brown color. Once done, turn off the flame and your pork chops and gravy are ready to be served. You can have with a side of mashed potato, buttery rice, or any other starchy side order of your choice. I hav opted to make some air fry potato wedges.

Let's Make Some Air Fry Potato Wedges.

  • Using a vegetable brush, wash the potatoes to remove any dirt on their skin. Use a paper towel to remove the excess water from the skin.
  • Cut each potato into quarters to yield 4 wedges.
  • Preheat Your Air Fryer to "Air Fry" at 400 °F.

  • Season potato wedges with oil. Use tour hands to make sure that each piece of potato wedge is coated with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
  • In a small bowl mix the panko bread crumb with the Badia seasoning. Dredge the potato with the panko bread crumb mixture.

  • Lay panko-coated potato wedges side down onto the air fryer plate. Air Fry for 18 minutes until golden brown.

  • Remove from Air Fryer and serve.
